The end of a relationship can be one of the saddest and most depressing things in the world. It can stain your whole reality with dark colors and somehow it always seems to rain outside just after. Despite how hard it is to go through, carrying around gallons of self-pity isn't how to get over a breakup. There are two quick fixes to the achey, breaky heart caused by a breakup.

Your first option is absurdly simple, and thus often overlooked. After all, if you thought this tactic could be done you probably wouldn’t be depressed in the first place. What I'm talking about is, of course, rekindling your relationship. How to get over a breakup fastest is by not being broken up with that person anymore, wouldn’t you agree?

If you want to give up on the relationship, simply trash your narrow mindset. It's hard to get over a breakup when you think of one person as your world. It's a romantic notion that's prized by our culture, but ultimately you know there is more in your life that you could enjoy and be happy about. I'll bet there were plenty of things you were grateful for before the breakup. They're still there when you don't turn a blind eye to them.

How to get over a breakup is to avoid the solitude of your own thoughts. Hang out with some positive friends, talk about it if you must, but don’t make that the focus of the evening. Do some things you enjoy. It is even better if it happens to be an activity you couldn’t do with your ex or he or she didn’t like it.

You might find yourself feeling like your life isn't that bad after doing some charity work It is also hugely rewarding no matter when you do it, and after a breakup you need to feel good about yourself.
